Emiliano Chapa's Fleet of Cars

1963 Chevrolet Impala Convertible

I first saw car in 1999, sitting in a Wheaton Md. driveway.
It had faded blue paint, no mouldings, 4 flat tires, and several tears in the top.

In 2000, I took a chance and knocked on the door and asked the owner if he
wanted to sell it. After a long conversation and a lot of negotiation, I got him to
sell it to me for $2500. I had it towed the next day and you wouldn't believe it,
with some new tires, battery and gasoline, it ran and drove!

First I had to replace the top. But, over the next few years, I put a new 350
with a turbo 350 3 speed trans, mouldings, wheels and tires, undercoating, and
new paint with minor body work. Of course it's still not finished, but I plan on
completely redoing the interior, replacing some of the dull trim, and upgrading
to disc brakes.

1963 Chevrolet Impala 2-Door Hardtop

In 1998, I had sold a '63 Impala and a '62 Impala (both 2-door hardtops) as a
pair to the same person. Ever since then, I really regretted selling my '63
Impala 2-door hardtop. In late 2004, I found this car for a good deal in South
Carolina. I love my convertible, but I really like the lines on a 2-door hardtop.
So, a buddy and I drove down to S.C. and I drove it back. I drive this car
regularly and I don't plan on doing much to it--I just love cruising in it!

1960 Chevrolet Bel Air

I've always liked the lines of the 1960 Impalas / Bel Airs. I found this car in
mid-2005. After driving the 3 on the tree, I had to get it! Although I'm an
Impala guy, this car is significant to me because my grandfather had one
identical to it, except his was green. It's an unrestored original except for the
seat covers. It still has the original straight 6. This is a very clean car from
Oklahoma with 95K original miles. I'm undecided whether or not to keep it
100% original (I'm leaning toward painting it black), but none the less I don't
plan on focusing on it until after I finish my convertible--I just love cruising in it too!

1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible

My father bought this car in 1991 from a little old lady who said it was just too
fast for her. The car belonged to her late husband and she told my father she
didn't need all that power. From what I remember, they were the 2nd owners,
making my father the 3rd owner. My dad paid $3500 for the car. In 1996, my
father gave me the car because he really never drove it. The car was mostly
original, but the previous owners had put a Pontiac 350 motor in it. In '96, I
found a 400 motor and installed it with help from my uncle. In '97, I had the
car repainted and some minor body work done. I don't really plan on doing
much to the car, since I'm more of a Chevy guy, but I love cruising in it with
the top down!
